Pushing a Quote to a Job in Fergus

Stages in Groundplan become Sections in a Fergus Quote.

To note:
  • Updating an Existing Version - if there are already products added from Fergus to the Quote will override these items, removing them from the Quote.
  • A Fergus job must exist before pushing Quantities - ensure Quote is checked inside the Job Details and not Estimate.

  1. From the Fergus tab, click Push to Quote

  1. Enter the Job Number / Job Title, then click to select

  1. Choose Push to Quote Version options:

    • Create new - creates subsequent Quote Versions in the Job
    • Update existing (default) - to override version already in the Job
      This will remove all contents from the existing Quote Version and re-add only Groundplan Quantities

  2. Enter Quote Title

  3. (Optional) Enter Quote Description
    If pre-populated, information is direct from Fergus settings

  4. If using Favourites in the Project, select Add Favourites as:

    • Sections - creates Favourites in Sub-sections under a Section
    • Combined items - transfers Favourites as Combined items

  5. Click Submit

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can I not see prices from Fergus?

Prices do not sync to Groundplan, as all pricing is managed within Fergus. This ensures that your Fergus Quote always reflects the most up-to-date pricing.

Regarding Favourites, if you need to distinguish between products with identical names by their prices, we recommend updating the Favourite's name in Fergus to make it easier to identify in Groundplan.


Why can't I find my Job number?

When creating or inside a Job, the Quote option must be enabled to be found in the Groundplan search.

Can I send my Favourites as combined or single line items to my Fergus Quote?

Yes. Select Combined Items before pushing the Quote.

Can I use Price Books in Groundplan for my Fergus Quote?

Yes. Select the Fergus Price Book option when adding Measurements or Parts.

I received an error "Fergus is missing some Favourites which are being used on the following parts in Groundplan" when pushing my Quote to a Job. How do I locate this?

This error means that an item from within the Favourite or the Favourite itself has been Deleted from Fergus. It needs to be located then removed from the Project before being able to push successfully to a Job.


To locate the Favourite on the Fergus Tab:

  1. Hover over the information icon on each Fergus product until you locate the matching ID shown in the error message
  2. Record the Favourite name and the Stage it is located in
    If Favourites have been renamed in Groundplan, the Stage will assist the next steps

  1. Head to the Worksheet
  2. Click Options then Show Build Totals

  1. Locate the Stage and the Favourite inside the Measurement
  2. Click the Measurement name
  3. Along the Part line click Actions then Delete
  4. (Optional) Click + Part and select the correct Favourite
    To replace the Deleted Favourite
  5. (Optional) Rename if required
  6. (If renamed) Click Save

If the item has been added from a Take-off Template, also remove and replace it from the Template so this does not happen again.

I pushed my Quantities to a Quote that already had items in it. Why have they disappeared?

Using the option Updating Existing Version will have overridden everything in the current version and replaced it, removing items that were already in the Quote.

Your options when Pushing to Quotes are:

  • Update existing (default) - to override Version already in the Job
  • Create new - creates subsequent Quote Versions in the Job

To retain data already in the quote, select Create new Version.
