    Reconnecting Groundplan to simPRO

    This article will take you through how to reconnect Groundplan to simPRO and continue your take-offs using your simPRO Prebuilds and Catalogue items.

    If this is your first time connecting the two systems, please refer to our Configuring your simPRO Integration for the first time article.

    When you have set up the simPRO integration without an API Key, you will need to reconnect to simPRO every seven days for security purposes.

    When simPRO and Groundplan are not connected, you will not be able to associate Catalogue items or Pre-builds to counts or measurements and be unable to push projects into simPRO Quotes.

    Please see the API Key section of this article for steps to set up an API key.

    Reconnecting Groundplan to simPRO

    1. Log into simPRO;
    2. Back to your Groundplan page: Click on the simPRO Enterprise button on the top right-hand menu;
    3. Click the Connect Now option and a new tab will open;
    4. Click the green Authorise button.

    Reconnected!!

    Keep your connection active!

    You will need to repeat this process and re-authorise every seven days to keep the connection active.

    1. Open your project to the Project Overview tab;
    2. Along the simPRO Integrations settings line, click the Edit button, (select the correct company if you are a Multi-company build);
    3. Click the green save changes button.

    You are now ready to count & measure with simPRO items and push this project to simPRO again!

    Setting up an API Key

    Without an API key, you'll need to reconnect Groundplan to simPRO every seven days.

    Please note

    To Set up the API Key: You need to have the API and Company Management sections in your simPRO security group permissions.

    1. Log in to simPRO;
    2. In Groundplan: Click on the simPRO Enterprise button on the top right-hand menu;
    3. Click on the Setup option;
    4. Click the blue Setup API Key button;
    5. Under Step 2: Click the blue Automatically Pre-fill button (a new tab will open);
    • If you are prompted to log into simPRO, please repeat the above step after logging in.
    1. On the newly opened simPRO tab: Click the green Create button then click the green Download Key button;
    2. On Groundplan: Under Step 4: Click the Choose file button and select the file named oauth.txt (this is usually found in your Downloads folder)

    Your API Key is now setup!

    1. If simPRO is configured with multiple companies -select your default simPRO Company, then click the Save & Sync button.
