Drawing and editing pen lines on plans

The Pen Tool is commonly used to highlight text on the Plan or fill in lines that don't need to have totals added to Quantities.

💡Depending on the screen size, the location of buttons and functionality may be different from that in this article.

💡Hold SPACE to move around the Plan.

Drawing Pen Lines

Straighten Lines

  1. Click the Shapes Tools

  2. Click Pen Tool

  3. Click, hold and drag to draw the line
    Hold SHIFT to draw a straight line

  4. Repeat for additional lines

  5. Click Done or press ESC

Freehand

  1. Click Pen Tool

  2. Click Straighten Lines, then click Freehand

  3. Click, hold and drag to draw the line
    Hold SHIFT to draw a straight line

  4. Repeat for additional lines

  5. Click Done or press ESC

Editing Pen lines

  1. Press ESC

  2. Zoom in and select the pen on the plan

    • To move: Click, hold and drag
      To move several items at once, use the select tool

  3. Click actions to:

  4. Click settings to:

    • Edit the line colour, line style and line width, opacity %, highlight, solid

  5. Click save, to cancel the changes click cancel

💡To restore Deleted Pen lines

  • Hold CTRL/Command ⌘ and press Z or

  • Click Undo before leaving the Plan

Things to note when following the above steps:

  • Tap instead of click

  • Unless there is a keyboard attached to the device, there are no shortcut keys on an iPad or Tablet

  • Tap Done instead of pressing ESC

  • Pinch zoom

  • Tap hold and drag to pan around a Plan
