Configuring your simPRO Integration for the first time

This integration requires simPRO, and you will need to know your simPRO URL to configure the setup.

Preparing to Connect simPRO & Groundplan

1. Sign in to simPRO

Being signed in to simPRO will help you have your simPRO URL on hand and make our quick connection process even quicker.

2. Sign into Groundplan

Go to my.groundplan.com to login to your Groundplan

You must be an Administrator of your Groundplan account to set up the simPRO integration.

Recommended: Setting up the simPRO integration with an API Key

We recommend setting up the API Key, so you do not need to refresh your simPRO connection every seven days.

Please note:

To set up the API Key: You need to have API and Company Management in your simPRO security group permissions.

  1. Click on the My Account button on the top right-hand menu;
  2. Click on the Setup option;
  3. Click the Integrations option on the left-hand menu;
  4. Click the blue Configure button under simPRO Enterprise;
  5. Enter your simPRO URL;
  6. Check the (Recommended) Add an API Key box;
  7. Under step 2: Click the blue Automatically Pre-fill button (a new tab will open);
  • If you are prompted to log into simPRO, please repeat the above step after logging in.
  1. On the newly opened simPRO tab, click the green Create button then click the green Download Key button;
  2. Back to Groundplan: Under step 4, click the Choose file button and select the file named oauth.txt (typically found in your downloads folder).

Your simPRO is now connected!

If you have not setup your API Key, you will also need to refresh your connection to simPRO from every seven days by clicking the "simPRO Enterprise" logo on the top-right hand corner then clicking the Reconnect option.

When simPRO & Groundplan are not connected, you will be unable to select catalogue items & prebuilds against counts and measurements or push projects across to simPRO Quotes.

  1. Click on the My Account button on the top-right hand menu;
  2. Click on the Setup option;
  3. Click the Integrations option on the left-hand menu;
  4. Click the blue Configure button on the simPRO Enterprise tile;
  5. Enter your simPRO URL and click the blue Connect button;
  6. A new tab will open, and you will be asked to Authorize Groundplan to access simPRO by clicking the green Authorize button;
  7. Wait for the System Information to refresh;

Your simPRO is now connected!

You're now ready to unlock the power of Groundplan and simPRO.

Multi-company setup

This is the part of the integration setup where you can set or update the default company you want to pick pre-builds and catalogue items from, select cost centres, and sent quotes.

Add more companies

If simPRO is configured with multiple companies, you can add as many as six more companies to be synced to Groundplan.

Click on the Add a company to sync drop-down menu, and click on an option to select it. All the companies that you choose will be listed under the Synced Companies.

Set your default company

Select your default company by checking the box to the left of the company name and click the green Save & Sync button to save your settings.

If you need to use another company for your take-off templates or push a project to a different company in the future, you can later select another company on a per-project or template basis.
